What is IPv4?

Internet Protocol version 4, or simply for short IPv4, is a very popular protocol despite the fact it was developed years ago. Thanks to it, we are able to connect our devices (computers, laptops, smartphones, tablets) to the web. Every time one device wants to access the global network, meaning the Internet, it receives an individual numerical IP address, for instance, 123.45.67.89. The purpose is to send or receive data from one machine to another via the web. Yet, to achieve that we should use the identifiers – IP addresses. Discover more information about IPv4.
